Lesson 3 : I – I ( 2)

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to drill the letter I with 3 words: ink, igloo, insect , and greetings

- Listening and speaking.

II. Language contents:

 a. Vocabulary: - ink, igloo, insect.

 b. Grammar: - How are you?

 -> I’m fine.

III. Teaching method: Communicative method.

- Techniques: Ask and answer, Work in groups, pairs, individually.

IV. Teaching aids: Text book, pictures, study cards, sub board.

V. Procedures:

1. Organization.(1')

- Call the roll.

2. Warm - up: Sorting game: ( 3’)

- Use some cards and make 3 “pockets” out of heavy paper.

- Label the pockets /a/, /e/, and /i/. Have a Ss deliver a card to the pocket labeled with the same initial sound.

- Repeat with different Ss until all the cards have been delivered.

New lesson: (30’) Teacher’s activities Student’s activities * Activity 1: Introduce the new pattern ( 12’) - Use the puppet to display the greeting. T: Hi, (Sam). How are you? Puppet: I’m fine, Thank you. - Do again. - Do again and ask for Ss to repeat the words of puppet. (2, 3 times) T: Hi, How are you? T: Say and write on the board. - To greet in social relations about the health. Use the ask and answer: How are you? I’m fine. Thank you. - Explain: “How are you” Used to ask in social relations. Don’t answer true about the health * Activity 2: Practice ( 10’) - Ask: T: How are you? Answer: I’m fine.Thank you - Divide Ps into 3 groups. Ask for Ss to ask and answer. - Ask for Ss to practise in pair. * Activity 3: Open the book ( 8’) - Ask for Ss to open the book. Look and remark the picture. - Introduce the characters: Sam, Ginger, Isabel. - Play the tape. - Correct the mistakes. - SS listen. -Listen and repeat. - Repeat the words of the puppet. Ss: I’m fine, thank you. - Look at the board and read. Note:( thank you: dïng ®Ó c¸m ¬n ng­êi hái chø kh«ng ph¶i lµ c©u tr¶ lêi lêi ) - Answer: Ss : I’m fine. Thank you. How are you? - Ask and answer in group G1: Hi, How are you? G2: I’m fine.Thank you.(Ask G3) How are you? G3: I’m fine.Thank you.(Ask G1) How are you? G1: I’m fine.Thank you. - Practise in pair. - Open the book, look at the picture and remark. - Listen and repeat - Read in pair. (Other Ps remark) 4. Homework.(1’) - SS listen and take note. - Learn by heart vocabulary. - Prepare: Lesson: O – o ( 1)
