OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge and skills - know some words about charity activities and volunteer work (car wash, bake sale, craft fair, talent show, fun run, volunteer, charity event, right). - talk about planning a charity event. - readan article about children’s right to understand general and specific information. - use “should”, “Let’s” and “How about” to make suggestions. 2. Competences: - improvecommunication, collaboration, analytical and critical thinking skills. 3. Attributes: - be active to take part in social activities. - help other people. II. TEACHING AIDS. Student book and Teacher’s book, class CDs, Digital Book(DCR phầnmềmtươngtác SB, DHA (phầnmềmtròchơitươngtác), interactive whiteboard / TV, PowerPoint slides. III. PROCEDURES Warm up: - Divide class into 4 groups. - Give questions: What can you do to help other people? - Have Ss in each group list some activities they can do to help other people in 2 minutes. - Have 4 representatives of 4 groups stick their posters on the board. - Check Ss’ answers. - Give feedback and announce the winner (The group with most correct answers and interesting ideas will be the winner). - Lead to the new lesson: Community Services. 1. Pre-Reading Activity 1: Match the words and phrases with the pictures. Listen and repeat. - Demonstrate the activity on DCR, using the example. - Have Ss look at the pictures and phrases, then number the pictures. - Divide class into pairs and have them check their answers with their partners. - Call Ss to give answers (read or write). - Check answers as a whole class. - Play audio (CD1 – Track 35). OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: I. Knowledge and skills - Know how to use “should”, “Let’s”, and “How about” to make suggestion correctly. - Use them to talk about charity event. II. Competences: - Students can improve the use of English. - Students can develop their listening, writing and speaking skills, creativity, cooperation, self- studying and problem solving. III. Attributes: - Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate in all classroom activities with the topic “community services”. - Be active to take part in social activities. - Help other people. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge and skills - put stress on the first word in compound nouns. - ask and answer about charity event (types, activities, names, etc.). - plan a charity event for community. 2. Competence: - improve communication, collaboration, analytical and critical thinking skills. - Students can develop their listening and speaking skills. 3. Attributes: - Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate in all classroom activities with the topic “community services”. - be active to take part in social activities. - build good habits for themselves and ditch bad ones. Activity 3: Let’s talk: Share with the class. - Have some Ss share their plan of the charity event with the class. - Give feedback and evaluation. Ex: We are going to have a Food Fair to raise money for the poor students in our school. Our event name is “Eat and Help”, so you can come to enjoy delicious food and help your friends. We also need volunteers to cook and sell food at the event. Please join us to make it successful. The event will happen in our schoolyard next weekend. Hope to see you there. V.
