T/F statements - Have Ss read the email and decide if the statements are true or false. Ask Ss to compare their answers with a partner before giving T the answers. Confirm the correct answers. Play the recording for the first time. Ss listen and fill each blank with no more than three words. Elicit the answers from Ss and write them on the board. Play the recording a second time for Ss to check their answers. If there are any difficulties, play the recording a third time , stopping at sdifficult points. Confirm the correct answers. Other Ss and T give comments. T collects some paragraphs to correct at home. Alternatively, have Ss revise and rewrite their paragraph as homework. For a less able class, have Ss collectively brainstorm ideas for the topics before they write. Comment on their ideas. Activity 2. Speaking: (P44) Ask Ss to work in groups to discuss the questions. Have Ss report their groups’ answers to the class. Give comments and summarise Ss’ ideas. OBJECTIVES: by the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Post-reading: Game: Space bingo Ask Ss to work in small groups for this game. Give Ss the following instructions. T may draw a bingo card on the board and fill in the first word as demonstration. - First, create a bingo card of nine squares by drawing two horisontal lines and two vertical lines. Write “bingo!” in the middle square to form a free space. - Second, create a vocabulary list that contains eight new words that Ss have learnt in this lesson. - Third, each player fills in his or her bingo card with the words from the list. When a player has marked three boxes down, across, or diagonally ( counting the “ free space”), he or she calls out “ Bingo!” and wins the roud. Ss can play several rounds with the same card.
