Knowledge. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Listen for specific information about places of interest in an area, - Write an email to a friend and give advice about some places of interest in their hometown should be visited. II. Competences: - improve their 2 skills (Main skills: Listening and writing; Sub-skill: Reading) - develop the ability to cooperate with their partners, to self-study, to solve problems in real situation . - present some places of interest in their homevillage. 3. Attributes: - have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities, especially with the topic “Local Environment” conducted by the teacher. - show their kindness to their hometown, love for places around. B. TEACHING EQUIPMENT AND LEARNING MATERIALS. - Lesson plan, PPT slides, Student’s book, workbook, ebook, personal computer (if any), projector/TV, speakers. C. PROCEDURE I. Warm-up: Predicting. - T shows the 3 pictures and asks sts to guess what theys are. - T leads to the lesson. I1. Pre- Listening: 1. Vocabulary. Explore (v) = to search and discover (about something): artefact (n) ceramics (n): pegion (n): - Guide Ss pronounce the words correctly. 2. True/ false statements. - Introduce the situation. - Ask Ss to read the sentences and guess which sentences are true/ false. General listening. - T plays the record once for students to get the gereral idea by checking if the statements are true (T) or false (F): - Ask them to compare with their partners. - Give feedback. 2. Writing: - Give situation. - Ss write the email using the note they have made . - Ask some to present in front of the class. - Checking. V. Post- reading: * Gap filling: - Ask Ss to read the email and a find suitable word to fill in each blanket. Dear Mira, It’s great to know that you’re coming to Viet Nam. Knowledge - Revise the lexical items related to local environment. - Revise the complex sentences and some common phrasal verbs. - Make a short dialogue about a popular place of interest in the area. II. Competences: - develop the ability to cooperate with their partners, to self-study, to do exercises. - know how to learn English in right way. III. Attributes: - Raise motivations and interests in learning English as a foreign language - Be Positive about local environment. B. TEACHING AIDS - Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, flashcards, projector or TV - Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks. C. PROCEDURE drums I. Warm up: - Brainstorm: - Ask Ss to write some traditional handicrafts in the word web. - Ss call out and then write on the board. - Ask ss to read again paying attention to the pronunciation and stress. - Give feedback.
