OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1.Ask and and answer questions about what story/ book someone is reading. 2.Ss will be happy, love their school and English. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1. New words :names of some books 2. Structure:A: What are you reading? B: I’m reading a story about Halloween. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Look, listen and repeat - Have Ps turn their books to 52 - Tell the class that they are going to read a story about Tony and Peter in 4 pictures and elicit the questions: Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing? - Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines. - Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus. ]Model sentences: A: What are you reading? B: I’m reading a story about Halloween. - Concept check: form, meaning, use.. 2. Point and say - Have Ps look at page 52. Then identify the books. T may explains the names of these books and their contents: The Fox and the Crow, The Story of Mai An Tiem, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. - Let Ps practice in pairs asking and answering questions about what book they are reading. - T- Ps model first. Then let Ps work in pairs. T monitors and helps. - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance. 3.Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about how someone learn English. T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs or in groups of four. Call some pairs to act in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. What are they doing? - Listen for the 1st time: Listen and follow. -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines in chorus twice. ¯ Model sentence: A: What’s Aladdin like? Ps listen and practice saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Listen again and read in chorus twice. Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation. 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud - Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and say the completed sentences aloud. - Ps do the task independently. - Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct. - Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. - Let Ps find the words which are stressed in the following sentences: What did you do at the party? We sang and danced happily.
