Knowledge - talk about what to bring on a trip - discuss plans for a trip - give advice about visiting natural wonders - review/ consolidate vocabulary/ grammar/ pronunciation they have learnt II. Competences - improve listening, reading skills and language focus - develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their partners, to self - study, to solve problems and other skills III. Attributes - have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities. B. TEACHING AIDS AND LEARNING MATERIALS. PROCEDURES Activity 1: Warm up - T asks ss to listen a song “ Hello Vietnam “ - asks ss to watch the landscapes - T asks and lead to new lesson Activity 2: Listening a. You will hear some information about a camping trip. What will each person bring? For each question, write a letter (A - H) next to each person. You will hear the conversation twice. * Pre - listening: - Introduce the topic and explain the listening task. - Have Ss apply the elimination process for this type of exercise, warn them that there are some extra options * While- listening: - Play the audio CD2 - 70 twice. - Play the audio again - Give feedback and correct if necessary. OBJECTIVES I. Knowledge By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: - Know some words about future houses - Listen to a dialogue to develop listening skill - Talk about the house in the future they like to live in II. Competences - Compare homes now and in the future - Raise motivations and interests in learning English - Develop communicative and team-working skills through learning activities - Illustrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through learning activities III. Attributes - Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate in all classroom activities with the topic “Homes in the future” - Students will build their love for houses and community after lesson. B. TEACHING AIDS - Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, lap top, TV - Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks. C. PROCEDURE Warm-up: Brainstorming - Teacher shows pictures of houses in the past and at present - Have some illustration and comparison for students to understand. - Have students guess about houses in the future. Question: - What will house in the future be like? - Do you want to have a house like that? - Teacher and students discuss together. I. Pre-listening 1. Pre-teach vocabulary - Use a context to introduce new words, using the pictures + smart home (n) + megacity (n) + underground (adv) + earthscraper (n) Lesson plan 6 Thai Phi Hung Son Linh primary and secondary school 2022- 2023 + eco-friendly home (n) - Teacher uses pictures to illustrate the meanings - Have students listen to and repeat each new word. (Individual) - Ask the meaning in mother tongue as a confirmation. - Have students repeat all the words together (chorally). - Correct student’s pronunciation if necessary * Checking new words - Teacher lets pictures of subjects appear one by one. - Students look and name these things. 2. Activity1: Listen and answer (a-p.70) - Teacher sets the scene of the task, ask students to listen to the dialogue and answer the question. Suggested Q&A: Is the student excited about houses in the future? –Yes/No Answer: Yes 2. Activity 2: Listen and write “Yes” or “No” (b-p.70) - Have students listen to the dialogue and answer Yes or No - Students show the answers. - Students listen again to check. - Teacher checks and corrects. Post-listening Speaking - Teacher shows types of houses again. - Have students work in pair to discuss what types of houses they like to live in. - Some pairs practice in front of the class. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to 1. Knowledge - use the simple future to think to give ideas about the future 2. Competences - improve the use of language - develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their partners, to self-study and other skills. 3. Attributes - have a positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities B. PROCEDURES: I. Warm up: Network - Have ss to write down where do people live in the future? In smart homes Where do people live in the future? Under the sea II. Presentation. Listen & repeat (a/p. 71) *Chatting: + Where do you think people will live in the future? +What do you think homes will be like ? - Teacher shows the conversation on the board. - Asks students to find out the differences between the structure in the conversation and what they have learned in the last period. - Revise the structure they know “I think ” - Asks Ss look at the grammar explanation and examples. - Have Ss look at the table with the different forms. - Have some Ss read the sentences aloud. - Ask Ss to write the new language in their notebooks. .  Model sentences : I think people will live in megacities. Activity 2: Write sentences using the survey notes(c/p71) + Help students know how to use Future Simple and indefinite quantifiers in other contexts. - Have Ss write sentences using the survey notes. - Have Ss check their works in pairs. - Have some Ss share their answers with the class. - T corrects and gives feedback III. Production: Now, practice saying the sentences with your partner:(d/p71) + Game: Lucky Numbers. - Ask Ss to play the game in teams. - Divide the class into two teams: Team A and B. - Ask Ss to choose a number attached to a word/phrase and then say out loud a sentence with the structure they have learned.
