I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Recycle the language from the previous sections and links with the topics.
- Practice doing some exercises to consolidate and apply what they have learnt in Unit 9.

*Activity 1: Match the words to their definitions:

A. Pronunciation:
- Mark the stress on the correct syllables in the words. Then listen and repeat:
- Have sts review the rules.
- Sts speak aloud then write it up.
*Remember:
+ With the words ending in -ion/ -ian, stress the syllable immediately before the suffix.
+ With the words ending in -ic, stress the syllable immediately before the suffix.
- Adding the suffix –al to a word doesn’t change its stress.
- If a word can take both suffix –ic & -al. They all have the stress on the same syllable.
- For the words ending in –ese and –ee, the stress is often placed on the final syllable. - For words ending in –logy and –graphy, the stress is on the third syllabe from the end.
