In Britain, the availability of higher education has increased greatly in the second half of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, finding a place in a university in Britain is not easy. University only takes the better students. Because of this, and also because the relatively high degree of personal supervision of students, nearly all university students are not supposed to take a job during term time.
