Teaching aids: a clock for practice, pictures for presentation, cassette. V. Time: 45 minutes VI. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm – up - Chat with students about daily activities. - Ask questions What do you usually do every day? What time do you get up? What time do you go to school? Activity 1: Review of telling about time. - Introduce the lesson. - Ask students to look at part 1. - Explain the word: schedule schedule /’skedju:l / (AE) schedule / ‘ edju:l / (BE) - Remind students of telling time (give an example for each case). What time is it? + It’s + ordinal number + o’clock. + It’s + minute + PAST + hour. (It’s + hour + minute) + It’s + minute + TO + hour. (It’s + hour + minute) * It’s thirty past … # It’s half past … * It’s fifteen … # It’s a quarter … - Play the tape for students - Ask students to read the time in part 1. - Have students practice asking and answering about the time (with a real clock) Activity 2: Practice asking and answer about time. - Have students to fill in the table with their appropriate time for each activity. Activity 3: Practice listening for information from a passage. - Ask students to look at part 3. - Ask question: Do you know what it is? ( It’s a schedule ) - Briefly introduce some school subjects students are going to listen to in the lesson: Math, English, Music, History, Physics, Geography, Physical Education (P. E). - Guide students how to listen to the tape to fill in the box with missing either names of subjects or time of the lesson. - Play the tape for students (3 times) - Ask students to cross-check the answers. - Ask students to read the answer. - Correct mistakes if necessary. - Provide the answer.
