What do you always do in the summer? 2. Do you like traveling? 3. (Show the picture in the book) Do you know which place it is? (Nha Trang) 4. What can you do when we visit Nha Trang? (go sightseeing / swim in the sea / go to Tri Nguyen Aquarium / see Cham Temple / … ) - Ask students to listen to the dialogue and tick (P) what Liz’s family did in Nha Trang. - Play the tape for students three times. + visited Nha Trang Beach. + ate food. (P) + saw Cham Temple. (P) + visited Tri Nguyen Aquarium. (P) + visited friends. + bought a lot of souvenirs for friends. (P) - Ask students to give feedback - Elicit that the things which Liz told to Ba happened in the past. So the verbs are used in the past simple tense. - Elicit the usage of the past simple past tense. “The past simple tense expresses an action that completely finished in the past. This tense always goes with: yesterday, last night/week/year…, ago…” Ex: I visited my friends yesterday. We didn’t go to school last week. - Ask students to give some more examples to know how to use the past simple tense. Practice - Ask students to practice the dialogue in pairs. - Call on some pairs to practice before the class. - Ask students to read the dialogue to number the sentences. - Ask students to give feedback 1.
