 1. Grammar : Modal verbs: can, must, should, ought to.

 2. Vocabulary : paddles

III Techniques : eliciting , brainstorming ,questioning and answering.

IV Teaching aids : cassette , pictures for presentation , handouts for practice .

 V Time : 45 minutes.

IV Teaching aids : cassette , pictures for presentation , handouts for practice . V Time : 45 minutes. VI Procedures : Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm – up - Have SS play the game ”Find ss who” - Call some ss to read the report before the class. Pre – reading - Have ss look at the picture and ask questions. a. What are Ba and Nam doing? b. Can you play table tennis? c. What do you need when you play it? - Introduce the dialogue. - Play the tape for ss While – reading - Ask ss to read the dialogue in pairs. - Elicit the Modal verbs: + ought toª I ought to finish it before … + mustª You must do your homework first. + have toª I also have to finish this question + Others: may, might, could,… Modal verb + Verb_ infi - Review + Would you like to + V_infi…? I’d like to, but I can’t. + It takes sb time to do sth. - Explain the new words - Have practice the dialogue in pairs - Let ss answer the questions Post – reading - Have ss complete the passage in B 4/p137. - Ask Ss to give the answers . can – must – mustn’t – should – can – ought to/should – can/should – should/must. Homework - Reread the dialogue. - Exercises B 1,2,3 / p. 83,84,85 (workbook) Remarks - Play the game Find s/o who… Name Can play soccer well Can run quickly Can play table tennis skillfully Can’t swim well Can’t play tennis _ Look and answer the questions. - Listen to. - Practice in pairs. - Listen and answer. - Listen and write. - Answer the questions. a. Nam must finish his homework before he play table tennis. b. Nam will be ready in a few minutes. c. Ba will finish a question for Math. d. Ba has two paddles - Work in groups - Give the answer and read it aloud.
