AIMS OF THE LESSON By the end of the lesson, student will be able to: 1. Knowledge - distinguish and use sound changes of “a bunch of”, “ a bag of” correctly. - talk about grocery arrangement in the kitchen. - talk about food, drinks and their positions in the kitchen. 2. Ability - improve listening and speaking skills. - develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their partners, to self - study 3. Quality - help family with the cooking. - choose healthy food for meals. - keep kitchen and home orderly and tidy. B. TEACHING EQUIPMENT AND LEARNING MATERIALS. . Teacher’s aids: Lesson plan, PPT slides, student’s book, workbook, notebook, personal computer , TV, speakers, DCR & DHA on EDUHOME, handouts C. PROCEDURES I. Warm up * Brainstorm - Divide the class into 2 groups to write down the containers and quantities of vocabularies about food and drinks. what do you have in your kitchen ? containers and quantities of food and drinks a bunch of bananas 2.a carton of a stickof a bag of flour butter,eggs a bottle of oil a can of beans, Don’t use the car *************************************************************************** ENGLISH LESSON PLAN : GRADE 7 Son Linh Primary & Secondary School School Year 2022 – 2023 *************************************************************************** * Possible answers:(a bunch of bananas, a bag of flour, a bottle of oil, a can of beans, a carton of eggs, a stick of butter, a carton of milk, a box of spaghetti). II. Pre-speaking 1.Activity 1: Pronunciation A. a bunch of / a bag of - Give some pictures of food and drinks, have Ss work in pairs to decide which can go with “a bunch of” and which can go with “ a bag of”. - Call Ss to read answers or write answers on the board. Lead to the new lesson: The sound changes in a bunch of and a bag of.  - Demonstrate/ explain how to pronounce a bunch of / a bag of sound correctly b.Listen to the sound changes and focus on the underlined words. a bunch of bananas a bag of sugar - Play the audio and focus on the underlined words. Play the recording again, have Ss listen and repeat with a focus on the pronunciation feature. c. Listen and cross out the sentence that doesn’t follow the note in “a” Listen and cross - Play the audio again Play the recording (CD 1 – Track 56), have Ss listen and cross out the option that is doesn’t follow the note in “a” d. Practice saying the sentence with the sound changes noted in “a” with a partner. Practice saying the words using the sound changes noted in “a” correctly - Take turns saying where to put the groceries. 2.Activity 2: Practice - Have Ss look at the instruction, the pictures . Show a picture of food and drinks, have Ss give names. *************************************************************************** ENGLISH LESSON PLAN : GRADE 7 Son Linh Primary & Secondary School School Year 2022 – 2023 *************************************************************************** - Call Ss to write answers + Run through the words. - Check if Ss have any difficulties with any vocabulary given in the task - Demonstrate the activity using the example - Ask Ss to practice taking turns sayingwhere to put the groceries. ( pair work) - Check answer altogether - Have some Ss say the sentences in front of the class =>Give feedback and correct. * Answer keys. Name of food and drinks: milk, banana, rice, spaghetti, candies, eggs, butter, chocolate, beans III. While-speaking SPEAKING: What Do You Have In Your Kitchen? Task a. Draw both kitchen diagrams in your notebook. Choose 7 items from the list and draw them in your kitchen. In pairs: Student A, ask Student B what food they have and where it is, then draw it on your partner's kitchen. Swap roles and repeat. Did you draw your partner’s kitchen correctly? - Demonstrate the activity by practicing the example with a student. - Divide the class into pairs. - Have pairs draw the kitchens into their notebooks. - Have pairs draw the food items on their own kitchen. - Have students do the activity. - Observe, give help if necessary. - Give feedback and correct the answers IV. Post-speaking • Work in pairs . Join another pair and look at their kitchens. Language knowledge and skills - talk about unusual foods in Vietnam. - practice listening and understanding a recording about an unusual dish in HàGiang Province (for general and specific information). - read and understand a food blog post. 2. Competences - improve communication, collaboration, analytical and critical thinking skills. 3. Attributes - choose healthy food for meals. - respect the culture and customs of other provinces all over the country. B. TEACHING AIDS AND LEARNING MATERIALS 1. Teacher’s aids: Student book and Teacher’s book, class CDs, Digital Book (DCR phần mềm tương tác SB, DHA (từ vựng/ cấu trúc) phần mềm trò chơi tương tác), TV PowerPoint slides. 2. Do you like insects? - Call Ss to give answers. - Check and give comment. - Lead to the new lesson. I . Pre - listening Let’s Talk! What unusual foods can you think of? What's the strangest? - Use the “Let’s talk!” part in the textbook– page 42 for warm-up activity. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to answer the question: What unusual foods can you think of? What's the strangest? - Call Ss to share their answers with the whole class. - Give feedback and evaluation. - Lead to the new lesson. II . While - listening Activity 1.A tour guide is talking to a group of tourists in HàGiang Province. Where are the people? - Have Ss read the question. - Play audio (CD1 - Track 57). - Have Ss listen and circle the correct answer. - Call Ss to give answer, explain. - Play the audio again and check the answer as a whole class using DCR. I . Pre-Writing 1. Activity 1 Task a. In pairs: Look at the pictures. Can you buy these dishes in your hometown? Would you like to try them? Why (not)? Is your hometown famous for any other dishes? Which ones? - Divide the class into pairs. - Have students discuss in pairs using the questions. - Go round and support Ss if necessary. - Have some students share their ideas with the class. - Give feedback and evaluation. Task b. In Ho Chi Minh City, it's common to see people eat ếchnướng. It's a frog and we usually grill it on a barbecue. We cook the whole frog, and eat it with fried rice. It tastes like a mix of chicken and fish. The meat is soft and it's healthy, too. If you come to Ho Chi Minh City, you have to try it! IV.
