Goodmorning/afternoon! Who is absent today? B.Warm up: Play a game Slap the board - Use pictures and names of the characters like Mai, Nam, Phong, Linda, Tony, Tom, Hakim and Akiko. Invite two groups of three to play the the game. - When the game is over, get them to point at each picture and say sentences. For example, This is Mai. She’s from Vietnam. She’s Vietnamese. - Introduce the new lesson. C. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask Ps to look at the pictures and work in pairs to ask and answer some questions in one minute: + Who’s he/ she? + Is he/ she a newcomer? Where is he/she from? - Call on some pairs to perform at front of the class. - Play CD once for Ps to listen. - Play the recording twice or three times for Ps to listen and repeat. - Ps read in chorus by pointing to each bubble. 2. Point and say - Tell Ps that they are going to ask and answer questions about one’s address, using What’s your address? It’s .... - Revise numbers 10 to 1000 by playing a game Matching. - Play the CD for Ps to read in chorus twice or three times. - Get Ps to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions in 3 minutes. - Call on some pairs to speak to check their performance. 3. Let’s talk: - Have Ps work in groups of 4 and practice further by asking and answering three questions about each other’s addresses. - Invite a few Ps to repeat their interviews to the class. - Teacher gives feedback if necessary. * Notes: We answer the question Where do you live? with the country, city, town, village, street we live in, or our full address. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to pronounce two – syllable words with the stress on the first syllable ‘city; ‘village; ‘mountains and ‘tower. * Language contents: 1. Vocabulary: Review (Practise saying two – syllable words with the stress on the first syllable). 2. Structure: Review 3. Skills: listening, speaking and reading. II. Teaching methods: - Communicative approach. - Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups. + Discuss. III. Teaching aids: 1. Warm up: Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by singing the Wheels on the bus song and the inviting some Ps to ask and answer the questions in activity 5 of the lesson 2. C. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat Introduce the aim which Ps have to achieve in the part. (Ps practise saying two syllable words with the stress on the first syllable.) Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. Then play it again for them to repeat all the words and sentences twice. Call on someone to pronounce Ask Ps give some example; ‘river; ‘market; ‘building; ‘villa 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences. Tell the class that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the sentences. Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence before playing the recording for them to do the task. Ps compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. Some Ps read the correct sentences in font of the class. 3. Let’s chant. The teacher introduces the chant by using pictures in the book. Have them read the chant and check their comprehension. Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen and follow in their books. Then play it again for them to repeat line by line. Put the class into two groups to practise chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers. Have them practise chanting and doing actions in groups. Invite two or three groups to say the chant and do actions. D. Consolidation: Repeat the way to pronounce two – syllable Good morning/ afternoon! Ps sing the song and answer the questions. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Remind them to write the first letter of each sentence and the name of their friend in capital letters and put commas and full stops at the appropriate places. - Get them to swap and read their writing in pairs before inviting two or three pupils to read their anwers aloud. They should work in groups to discuss the house they are going to draw and its address. - Set a time limit. - Present their drawings to their class * 7.
