OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. -Using the words and phrases related to the topic:School events. 2. Ask and answer questions about school events, using When will..be?- It’ll be on II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1. New words : Sports Day,Teachers’ Day, Independence Day, Children’s day,take part in... 2. Structure: A: When will .be? B: - It’ll be on. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. WARM UP Have ss chant At the circus - Get some pupils to talk about where they were and what they did the day before B. NEW LESSON 1. Look, listen and repeat - Tell Ps that they are going to read a story about Nam and Phong . - Look at the 4 pictures and guess the content: Where are they? What are they talking about? - Listen for the 1st time: Listen and follow. -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines in chorus twice. ¯ Model sentence: A: When will Sports Day be? B: It’ll be on Saturday - Concept check: form, meaning, use.. 2. Point and say - Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about what animals did in the zoo. - T introduces the new words under the pictures: roar, move, beautifully, loudly, quietly, slowly, quickly Then remind Ps the simple past tense of these verbs: roar- roared, move- moved, eat- ate, walk- walked, sing- sang - Let Ps practice in pairs. T monitors and helps. - Call some pairs to perform in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary 3.Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about school events.. T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs. Call some pairs to act in front of the class. C. What are they talking about? - Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines. - Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus. ]Model sentences: A: What are you going to do on Sports Day?
