OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1.Askand answer question s about common health problems. 2.Ss will be happy, love their school and English. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1. New words :a headache, a toothache, an earache, a sore throat, a stomach ache, a fever .. 2. Structure: A: What’s the matter with you? B: I have a headache. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. PROCEDURES Time Activities Interaction Materials 5’ 10’ 8’ 7’ 5’ A. WARM UP Sing the “ head, shoulders, knees and toes” song and remind the body parts. B. NEW LESSON 1. Look, listen and repeat - Have Ps turn their books to p6. - Discuss about the characters and the situations in each picture. Who is this? Where’s he/ she/ What are they talking about? - Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines. - Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus. Model sentences: A: What’s the matter with you? B: I have a headache. Concept check: meaning, form, use. 2. Point and say - Have Ps look at page 6. Then identify the 4 other diseases. Explain some words if necessary: a toothache, an earache, a sore throat, a stomach ache. - Let Ps practice in pairs asking and answering questions about common health problems. T monitors and helps. - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance. 3.Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to practice more with their friends asking and answering about common health problems. T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs or in groups of four. Call some pairs to act in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. C. New words :a backache, take a rest, carry heavy things, go to the dentist 2. Structure: A: You should go to the doctor./ You shouldn’t play sports for a few days. B: Yes, I will. Thanks. / OK, I won’t. Thanks. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1.Phonics: What’s the matter with you? I have a headache. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Ps listen and practice the stress of the sentences and the falling intonation of the questions and answers. Listen again and read in chorus twice. - Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation. - Let Ps find more with Wh- questions 2.Listen and circle a or b. Then ask and answer - Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and write the words in the blanks and read aloud. - Ps do the task independently. - Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct. - Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud.
