Lesson 1
I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1.Askand answer question s about common health problems.
2.Ss will be happy, love their school and English.

1. New words :a headache, a toothache, an earache, a sore throat,
a stomach ache, a fever ..
2. Structure: A: What’s the matter with you?
B: I have a headache.

Sing the “ head, shoulders, knees and toes” song and remind the body parts.
B. NEW LESSON

- Have Ps turn their books to p6.

- Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books

- Tell Ps that they are going to learn to read a story.
- Look at the 4 pictures and guess the contexts. Who’s this? Who’s he talking with? What’s the matter with him?
- Listen for the 1st time: Listen and follow.
-Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines in chorus twice.
¯ Model sentence:

- Show the questions and answers:
- Play the recorder. Ps listen and practice the stress of the sentences and the falling intonation of the questions and answers. Listen again and read in chorus twice.
- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation.
- Let Ps find more with Wh- questions
2.Listen and circle a or b. Then ask and answer
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and write the words in the blanks and read aloud.
- Ps do the task independently.
- Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct.
- Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud.
T corrects their pronunciation if necessary
3.Let’s chant
What’s the matter with you?
- Have Ps read the chant and check comprehension.
- Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions.
- Divide the class into 4 groups.
- Call 3 pairs to the front of the class to chant and actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.
