1. Look, listen and repeat

- Have Ps turn their books to p12.

- Discuss about the characters and the situations in each picture. Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing?

- Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books

-Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines.

- Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus.

Model sentences:

A: Don’t play with the knife!

B: OK, I won’t.

- Concept check: form, meaning, use.

2. Point and say

- Have Ps look at page 12. Then identify the 4 situations. Explain some words: matches, touch the stove,run down the stairs.

- Let Ps practice in pairs expressing and responding to concern about possible accidents at home.

New words :break your leg, cut yourself, get a burn, fall of your bike 2. Structure: A: Why shouldn’t he climb the tree? B: Because he may fall and break his leg. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Look, listen and repeat - Tell Ps that they are going to learn to read a story. - Look at the 4 pictures and guess what the story is about. Check comprehension: Who’s he/ she?/ What are these children doing? What’s the boy doing? Should he do that? Why? - Listen for the 1st time: Listen and follow. -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines in chorus twice. ¯ Model sentence: A: Why shouldn’t he climb the tree? OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say sentences with the correct intonation. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1.Phonics: 1. Don’t play with the knife! OK, I won’t. 2. Why shouldn’t I play with the knife? Because you may cut yourself. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. PROCEDURES Time Activities Interaction Materials 5’ 10’ 8’ 7’ 5` A.WARM UP : Game Silent sentences 1. Don’t ride your bike too fast. You may fall of your bike. 2. Don’t run down the stairs. You may break your leg. 3. Don’t touch the stove. You may get a burn B. NEW LESSON 1. Listen and repeat Let Ps look at the book p 16 - Show the sentences: - Play the recorder. Ps listen and practice the stress of the sentences with the falling intonation. Listen again and read in chorus twice. - Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation. - Let Ps find more sentences with falling intonation. 2.Listen and circle a or b. Then ask and answer - Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and write the words in the blanks and read aloud. - Ps do the task independently. - Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct. - Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary 3.Let’s chant Why shouldn’t he do that? - Have Ps read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. - Divide the class into 4 groups. - Call some pairs to the front of the class to chant and actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. C.
