- Tell Ps that they are going to read a story about Mai and Quan. - Look at the 4 pictures and guess the content: Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing?
- Listen for the 1st time: Listen and follow.
-Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines in chorus twice.
¯ Model sentence:
- What’s summer like in your country?
+ It’s usually green
There are lots of flowers and plants .
- Concept check: form, meaning, use..
2. Point and say
- Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about what the main character of a book/ story is like.
- T introduces the new words under the pictures: summer, spring, autumn, winter.
Then identify the 4 characters..
- Let Ps practice in pairs. T monitors and helps.
- Call some pairs to perform in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary
3.Let’s talk
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions
about books/ stories they like reading.
T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs. Call some pairs to act in front of the class.

Let Ps look at the book p 56
- Play the recorder. Ps listen and practice saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Listen again and read in chorus twice. Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation.
2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and say the completed sentences aloud.
- Ps do the task independently.
- Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct.
- Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud.
T corrects their pronunciation if necessary.
3.Let’s chant
What will the weather be like tomorrow?- Have Ps read the chant and check comprehension.
- Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions.
- Divide the class into 4 groups.
- Call some pairs to the front of the class to chant and actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.
