OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1.Ask and and answer questions about how someone learns English. 2.Ss will be happy, love their school and English. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1. New words : 2. Structure:A: How do you practisereading? B: I read English comic books. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Learn new words, grammar, practice listening/ speaking/ reading/ writing skills, play games, sing songs/ chants.. B. NEW LESSON 1. Look, listen and repeat - Have Ps turn their books to 46 - Tell the class that they are going to read a story by pointing at the 4 pictures and elicit the questions: Who are they? What are they talking about? How often does Mai have English? How does she practice reading? - Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines. - Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus. ]Model sentences: A: How do you practisereading? B: I read English comic books. - Concept check: form, meaning, use.. 2. Point and say - Have Ps look at page 46. Then identify 4 English skills and read aloud the phrases under each picture. - Let Ps practice in pairs asking and answering questions about how someone learns English. - T- Ps model first. Then let Ps work in pairs. T monitors and helps. - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance. 3.Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about how someone learn English. T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs or in groups of four. Call some pairs to act in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. Phonics: ‘How do you ‘practise ‘speaking? I ‘speak ‘English ‘every ‘day. ‘How do you ‘practise ‘reading? I ‘read ‘English ‘comic ‘books. ‘How do you ‘practise ‘writing? I ‘write ‘emails to my ‘friends. ‘Why do you ‘learn ‘English? Be’cause I ‘want to ‘sing ‘English ‘songs. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Ps listen and practice saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Listen again and read in chorus twice. Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation. 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud: - Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and say the completed sentences aloud. - Ps do the task independently. - Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct. - Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. - Let Ps find the words which are stressed in the following sentences: - I learn English by talking with my friends. - I usually practice listening by watching cartoons on TV. - I write the words in my notebook. 3.Let’s chant How do you learn English? - Have Ps read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. - Divide the class into 4 groups. - Call some pairs to the front of the class to chant and actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. C.
