3. Show loving hometown and country.

Warm up:Greeting and play game ( Netword)
- Greet the students. Then get the class to play game.

- Lead students to the new lesson. Sam Son beach
Activity 1: Language input 
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 18) and answer questions to identify the 
situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (They are Linda and Nam) 
2.What are they talking about? (talkingabout holiday)
- Tell students that they are going to practise a conversation amongMai and Peter
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the 
dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat.
- Ask students to look at pictures b, d (Activity 1) and answer the following questions: 
 3. What doesMai ask Peter?(Where did you go?)
 4. Howdoes Peteranswer? (I went to Ha Long Bay)
 - Elicit the sentence patterns:Where did you go on holiday? – I went to _____.
Activity 2: Full controlled &less controlled Task 1: Point and say
- Use pictures to elicit: Ha Long Bay, Phu Quoc Island, Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue 
Imperial City
- Say aloud the words, then ask pupils to repeat the words a few times
- Ask pupils to write down the structure into their notebook.
- Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about 
where someone went on his/her last holiday, using: 
* Structure: Where did you go on holiday? I went to ...
-Have pupils practice asking and answering in pairs.
- Call some pairs to practice in front of the class
- Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation.
Task 2: Let’s talk:
-Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions 
about their classmates’ past holidays. 
- Get pupils time to work in pairs to ask and answer, using the structure.
- Invite a few pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class.
- Give feedback.
Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(Ask and answer questionsabout past holiday)
2. What’re the core values of the lesson?
-Showloving hometown and country ,using appropriate gestures and intonation when 
asking and answering questions aboutpast holiday.
- Remind students to learn new words and structure by heart.
- Prepare for the next lesson (Unit 3, Lesson 1. 4,5,6 on page19).

- Have two pairs of pupils ask and answer the questions about past holiday - Lead into new lesson.
Activity 1: Listen and match.
-Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and draw lines to match each 
character to the correct picture.
- Ask pupils to look at the pictures to identify the characters and their activities.
- Play the recording the second time for pupils to listen and draw lines to match.
- Ask pupils to give answers
- Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check
- Give correct answers.

Activity 2: Read and match
-Tell pupils that they are going to read and match the questions with the answers.
- Give time for pupils to do the task independently.
- Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Ask pupils to give answers and other pupils to give comments.

.Activity 3: Let’s play
-Tell the class that they are going to play: Find someone who ..., using names of famous 
places in Viet Nam.
- Give pupils a piece of paper with one of the names of the places in Activity 2.
- Then say Find someone who went to Ha Long Bay and they should ask each other 
Where did you go on holiday? To find out who went to Ha Long Bay.
- Continue with the rest of the places. 
- Set a time limit for them to play the game.
- Give feedback
Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
1.What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(Talking aboupast holiday).
 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? - Showloving hometown and country ,using appropriate gestures and intonation when 
asking and answering questions about past holiday.

- Greet the students. Then get the class to to watch the video and remember the name of 
means of transports.
- Lead into new lesson.
Activity 1: Language input 
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 20) and answer questions to identify the 
situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (They arePhong and Tony) 
2.What are they talking about? (talkingaboutmeans of transports.)
- Tell students that they are going to practise a conversation amongPhong and Tony
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the 
dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat.
- Ask students to look at pictures b, d (Activity 1) and answer the following questions:

- Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and write.
- Ask pupils to give answers
- Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check
- Give correct answers

Activity 2: Write about your last holiday.
-Tell the class that they are going to write about their last holidays.
- Give pupils a few seconds to read the questions in silence and check their 
understanding.
- Give pupils time to do the task.
- Call some pairs to read aloud their answers in front of the class.
- Ask other pupils to give feedback.
- Give the correct answers.
Activity 3: Let’s sing
-Tell pupils that they are going to sing the How did you get there?Song.
- Get pupils to read the lyrics in silence. Check their comprehension. 
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to get familiarized with the 
pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of the song. 
- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. 
- Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole song.
- Then have them practice in groups.
- Call on some groups to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class clap 
their hands at rhythms.
- Give feedback
Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 
1.What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(Talking aboutpast holiday and means of transports).
 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? 
- Showloving hometown , country and obeying traffic laws when participating in traffic.
- Practise chatting
