Educational aim : 2.Teaching aim : By the end of the lesson students can know some newly strange sports. II Language contents : 1. Grammar : Modal verbs. 2. Vocabulary : + surface, ocean, underwater, equipment, invention, scuba- diving, vessel, pearl, diver. + dive , invent , explore III Techniques : eliciting , brainstorming ,questioning and answering , True / False sentences. IV Teaching aids : cassette , pictures for presentation , handouts for practice . V Time : 45 minutes. VI Procedures : Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm – up - Call two ss to make up a dialogue based on the model. - Ask them to write the modal verbs. Pre – reading -Have ss look at the picture in the book. - Ask questions + which sport is it ? + Where can we play this sport ? + To scuba-dive, what equipment do we need ? - Elicit the new words: world’ surface, pearl diver, special breathing equipment, invent, invention, deep-sea vessel, underwater life, explore. While – reading - Read the text. - Ask SS to read the text silently. - Call some ss to read the text aloud. - Ask them to read the text again to do True/False questions. - Ask them to give the answers. a.
