IV Teaching aids : cassette , pictures for presentation , handouts for practice .
V Time : 45 minutes.

Warm – up
- Call two ss to make up a dialogue based on the model.
- Ask them to write the modal verbs.
Pre – reading
-Have ss look at the picture in the book.
- Ask questions
+ which sport is it ?
+ Where can we play this sport ?
+ To scuba-dive, what equipment do we need ?
- Elicit the new words: world’ surface, pearl diver, special breathing equipment, invent, invention, deep-sea vessel, underwater life, explore.
While – reading
- Read the text.
- Ask SS to read the text silently.
- Call some ss to read the text aloud.
- Ask them to read the text again to do True/False questions.
- Ask them to give the answers.

c. False. Now, scuba-diving is a popular sport because people can swimming freely in the water with the help of special breathing equipments.
