- Ask and answer about someone’s health condition.

II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, extra-board, cassette player.

OBJECTIVES: Educational aims: We should always maintain good health which is the most valuable thing in life Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Identify some illness and diseases. - Ask and answer about someone’s health condition. II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, extra-board, cassette player. III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm - up: (5’) - Have students play game: “Bingo” 1. headache 2. toothache 3. (bad) cold 4. temperature 5. sick-note 6. medical record - Team works. 2. Pre - speaking: (5’) - Give other names of the diseases. 1. stomachache 2. backache 3. sore throat 4. flu 5. fever 6. cough - Ask students to look at the table part 2/p.111 - Ask students to draw this table in exercise book. - Listen and write. - Look at the table. - Draw the table. 3. While - speaking: (20’) + Activity 1: - Introduce some new words 1. a semester: 2. a stomachache: 3. (to) be absent from: 4. absence (n) : 5. due to = because of (synonym) + Activity 2: - Set the scene: Did you ever have to stay at home last semester? Why? What happened to you? How many days were you absent from the class? - Have Ss copy the table in their notebook. - Ask them to predict days lost due to sickness in class 7A last semester. - Feedback Ss ' prediction. Production: (10’) - Have them work in groups of 4 : Ask their 3 friends some questions and complete the table. Example: S1: Were you absent from school last semester? S2: Yes, I was / No, I wasn't. S1: Did you have a toothache? S2: Yes, I did / No, I didn't. S1: What was the matter with you? S2: I had a ........ - Have Ss report about their groups. - Work in group 5.
