OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1.Ask and and answer questions about school lessons. 2.Ss will be happy, love their school and English. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS 1. New words :review school subjects. 2. Structure: A:How many lessons do you have today? B: I have four: Maths, Vietnamese, Music and PE. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Look, listen and repeat - Tell the class that they are going to read a story about school timetable using elicit questions: Who are they? Where are they? What are they talking about?. - Listen for the 1st time: Ps point to the appropriate line in their books -Listen for the 2nd time and some more if necessary: Ps repeat the lines. - Let Ps practice the dialogues in chorus. ]Model sentences: A:How many lessons do you have today? B: I have four: Maths, Vietnamese, Music and PE. - Concept check: form, meaning, use.. 2. Point and say - Have Ps look at page 49. Then identify the school timetable. - Let Ps practice in pairs asking and answering questions about lessons. A:How many lessons do you have today? B: I have T monitors and helps. - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance. 3.Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to practice more with their friends asking and answering about daily routines. T- Ps model first. Then let them work in pairs or in groups of four. Call some pairs to act in front of the class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. Phonics: ‘How many ‘lessons do you ‘have to’day? I ‘have ‘four. How many ‘crayons do you ‘have ? I ‘have ‘five. How many ‘books do you ‘have ? I ‘have ‘six. How many ‘copybooks do you ‘have ? I ‘have ‘seven. III. SKILL 1. Speaking, listening 2. Reading and writing skills. IV. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Power point, text book, chalk, word cards. 2. Pupils: text book, pencil, ruler. V. Listen and repeat Let Ps look at the book p 44. - Play the recorder. Ps listen and practice saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Listen again and read in chorus twice. Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check and correct their pronunciation. - Note: The words are stressed in sentences are nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Sometimes this, that, these and those are stressed up to speaker’s intention. - Let Ps find the words which are stressed - How often do you have English? - I have it four times a week. -Where will you be next weekend? - I think I will be in the mountains. 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud: - Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and write the words in the blanks. - Ps do the task independently. - Swap their answers in pairs. Go around and offer help if necessary. Check and correct. - Ask Ps to read the sentences aloud. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary. 3.Let’s chant How often do you have? - Have Ps read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition.
